You got into this work
because you want to do

Big Things

in the world and
make positive change, right?

But as you probably know, running an organization or company isn’t for the faint of heart.
And managing people -whether it’s your team,
your board (or yourself) is a LOT of work!

Can we talk like old friends?

Good!

I am so glad you said yes.

Having amazing talent is the #1 competitive advantage in your business, your institution or your organization. Yet, we treat talent as a nuisance and necessary expense to be controlled instead of an investment to grow. And somehow, complaining about the talent problem has become enough of an effort to solve the talent problem.

I’m determined to help more people stop struggling with being an effective manager and leader and focus on building that talent muscle. And it doesn’t stop in the office. You carry YOU with you everywhere you go!

So you might be asking yourself
“What does this even MEAN”?

Kish - Sounds Familiar

Let me know if any of this sounds familiar:

  • You are doing the job of 5 people and you are burnt out
  • You’re on your 3rd, 4th, and 5th team hire and can’t figure out how to find the right people
  • Your staff is looking to you for direction and support but you don’t have TIME to do more than put out fires
  • You have a board that is well-meaning but needs a jolt to become high performing

I get it and I can help

  • You CAN recruit and retain diverse talented professionals that stick
  • You CAN have team members that LOVE to come to work and are doing their best work every day
  • You CAN find the time to set healthy boundaries, take care of your mental, physical + spiritual
health and do the work you were called to do
  • You CAN be an amazing, high performing leader and keep your sanity, too!

Here are three ways we can work together

  1. Bring me into light up the room at your next conference, gathering or event. My keynotes and session rarely get below a 4.5 out of 5 rating. Bragging? Nope! Humbled (and effective)
  2. Bring me in to train your board and/or staff so that they can grow. Grow their skills, grow their money and grow their confidence
  3. Trust me with this season of your life as your focus coach and thought partner. Better yet, think of me as your partner in crime (except we are up to a whole lot of good).

Are you tingling with excitement yet?

Here’s how it works:
I start off by asking what you want to achieve. Then I work with you to create a plan that will achieve your goal. I don’t believe in one-size fits all plans because everything ain’t for everybody. I work best with leaders who hate the cookie cutter style of consultants and want to be able to kick off your shoes and have fun while getting stuff done.

You’ll love working with me if you:

  • Don’t have a lot of time to waste and need results now
  • Don’t have a ton of money to spend but know you need to invest now
  • Don’t want to get another book or attend another webinar that leaves you feeling
overwhelmed with what you need to do and no idea how to do it
  • Don’t want to spend another day paddling hard under water while pretending to have it all under control

More than anything, you’ll love working with me if you are READY for a change right now and not later!

I get such a buzz teaching women how to show up as I get such a buzz teaching women how to show up as their dopest selves in the world.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That's why I enjoy recording episodes for @letstakethisoffline. That platform lets me bring forth conversation and revelations that I have been having with my good good co-workers (and girlfriends) for years! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At this point, it's hard to pick which one is my "fave", but the one that y'all been all up in my DM's about (in a great way) is the episode with @inspiremany aka "Coach Cass"! It's packed full of goodness that you can use RIGHT now to tap into a happy and fulfilling love life, even if you're super busy and driven. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Listen at the link in my bio and get ready 'cause Cass is coming to you real!
I started my business when I was still working a 9 I started my business when I was still working a 9-5. If I had to tweak a few things I certainly would because, whew chile.... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Doing 12 hour days incorporate was not in the plan, but the idea for my business didn’t spring from a relaxing weekend at a yoga retreat, it came from necessity. I had to find a solution as a single parent with a burgeoning teenager or I would end up missing out on some critical moments and that was not an option! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, I’m not gonna lie and say I hit it out of the ballpark straight away. I’ve had damn hard days. I’ve questioned myself, thought about giving up and walking away altogether (too many times than I can count!) but there was one thing I did that has made this all possible: decided that success was inevitable for me and come hell or high water I was going to achieve it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And with this belief, I never would have never been able to: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⭐ Help entrepreneurs and professionals raise money like a boss ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⭐ Train everyday leaders to build the teams that they love in a role they respect ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⭐ Work with major organizations to find real-world solutions and provide an authentic, high-impact experience for ALL of their employees. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Why am I telling you this? Because you, too, have the power to decide what you want your life and success to look like. You don't deserve to brainwashed into someone else's version of what THEY feel you deserve. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take a stand for you. Show up for you. WIN. FOR. YOU!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
TGIF, friends!
HINT: DETAILS ABOUT THE ROOTED RETREAT ARE COMING HINT: DETAILS ABOUT THE ROOTED RETREAT ARE COMING VERY SOON. And we want you to be the first to know! (Because truthfully, the emails I get that start off with "'I missed the info, but..." and then they proceed to ask for information that was sent in the email (make me sad.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And this information is going to be CLUTCH in getting our coveted Rooted Retreat box so don't miss out! Get on my VIP list today so that you're the first to know when this thing hits! Just click the link in my bio, head to bit.ly/kishcrew, or DM me and I'll send you the direct signup link.
One of my hardest lessons that I often talk about One of my hardest lessons that I often talk about is the power of advocating for yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a Black, female CEO and founder, resistance, ignorance, and discomfort is (unfortunately) something that I STILL have to deal with on a regular basis. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don't care what's at stake. I will also advocate for myself to walk away feeling valued and understood when it comes to my money. If I don't, then we can't work together - simple as that. But it wasn't always like this. It took a few unfair negotiations, devaluing conversations, lost promotions (to someone less qualified but more white than me), and overlooked raises for me to recognize that the only person who was going to stand in the gap for me was me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And so after a stern/loving talking to myself in the mirror this is what I did:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡ I stopped underestimating my own value and benefit of what I brought to the table. I knew that there were others with more experience, education, and all that jazz, but there was no one who was going to outwork, out benefit, or out leverage like I was. And all of that came with an investment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡ I learned to not be afraid to ask for what you want. At the time, I had to educate myself on how to move in these spaces, so if you're not well-versed, begin to educate and read books on the art of negotiation. That's the name of the game in the C-Suite - and as we all know closed mouths don't get fed...or financed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡ I began to understand that this journey wasn't about me. It was about the up-and-coming Kishshana's who need to learn and understand their work in the workplace. The goal is never to never undersell or overwork. But I can't teach that to others if I don't learn that lesson myself, right? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What advice would you give someone about advocating for yourself? Let's chat about them in the comments! 👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿
