Somehow, nonprofit professionals have gotten this reputation for being frumpy, no-style having folks who prefer stiff suits or rumpled shirts and birkenstocks. Now I love a good birkenstock (in fact my favorite ones are hot pink patent leather) but as a fundraiser I’ve learned to always look my best, dress for my audience (while keeping my sense of style) and shop on a budget too.
There are lots of things that make up a fabulous fundraiser.
A lover of people, of making connections and building relationships, of listening…I could go on and on. But being well dressed is like your calling card. And dressing well is a form of good manners (listen… Tom Ford said it so I know it’s true).
Here I’ll talk about current trends that are appropriate for a professional environment – from the most conservative to the most creative. I’ll cover what to wear to your next donor meeting, interview, staff retreat or gala. I will talk with influencers and bloggers who bring it in the dressing department and want to help me make sure you do too.
And what I’m MOST excited about is featuring my everyday fundraisers – women and men who ROCK their personal style with finesse and flair on lots of different budgets.
